Port Otago Limited’s Next Generation project has passed its first milestone with the completion and public release of preliminary reports into the possible effects of the project on the physical coastal environment and its ecology. The project, launched in August 2007, is to explore the issues and options associated with handling visits by the next generation of bigger ships to Port Chalmers.
